TUPELO – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today celebrated the announcement that Blue Origin will be testing its New Glenn rocket at Stennis Space Center’s B-2 test stand. The NASA-Blue Origin partnership is the latest instance of Stennis Space Center’s embrace of commercial space innovation.
“Stennis continues to be a hub for the commercial space industry,” said Senator Wicker. “Mississippi warmly welcomes Blue Origin’s return to the coast and to our legendary rocket testing facilities.”
Senator Wicker has been an enthusiastic champion of both Mississippi’s space industry and NASA’s Artemis program. In April, the senator highlighted the many contributions Mississippians made to the historic Artemis II mission. In this and previous congressional sessions, he has introduced legislation to support the Stennis Space Center’s continued growth.
