Miss. Senator Praises Agency’s Pro-Consumer Efforts

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., a senior member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, today questioned members of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) during a committee oversight hearing. The hearing broadly covered major policy issues before the Commission.

Wicker, chairman of the subcommittee that oversees the FCC, asked Chairman Pai about his plan to bring broadband to economically challenged areas. He also touched on the FCC’s recent actions regarding free data or “zero rating” programs, which have spurred competition in the wireless market.
