Wicker Votes to Confirm Judge Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court

April 7, 2017

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today voted in favor of President Trump’s nominee to the Supreme Court, Judge Neil Gorsuch. The Senate confirmed Gorsuch’s nomination by a vote of 54-45.

“I am confident that history will view Neil Gorsuch to be an outstanding associate justice of the United States Supreme Court,” Wicker said. “I believe that he will be a credit to the Court, to the President who nominated him, and to the Senate that confirmed him.

“Today, the Senate has appropriately ended an unfortunate 14-year experiment with partisan filibusters of judges. We are now back to the 200-plus-year tradition of confirming judges by an up-or-down vote.”
