WASHINGTON - U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today released the following statement upon confirmation of President Donald Trump’s intent to visit Mississippi to celebrate the state’s bicentennial:

“The President of the United States is welcome in Mississippi. His visit to celebrate our bicentennial would give our state an incredible opportunity to showcase the people and stories that make our state so unique.”

Wicker is scheduled to attend the opening of the Museum of Mississippi History and the Mississippi Civil Rights museum on Saturday along with other distinguished guests.
