Wicker Announces DeSoto County Office

Senator to Open Hernando Office in Early May

April 9, 2008

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker today announced he will be opening an office in Hernando in early May.  The office, which will be located in the newly renovated Gale Center building, will serve residents throughout Northwest Mississippi.

“I maintained an office in DeSoto County throughout my service in the House of Representatives and look forward to continuing that presence as a member of the U. S. Senate,” Sen. Wicker said.  “The dynamic growth in Northwest Mississippi is a good thing, and my Hernando office will ensure the growing number of area residents are able to receive assistance when they need it.  The staff manning my office will have the experience and contacts to help constituents who might be having problems with agencies of the federal government.”

Wicker’s staff will begin moving into the Gale Center on May 5. Until then, the First Congressional District office, formerly occupied by Wicker, remains open in the Southaven City Hall to serve area residents.  In addition, residents may contact the senator and his staff through his offices in Tupelo and Jackson if they are in need of assistance.

The DeSoto County location is Wicker’s fifth office location in Mississippi.  In addition to Tupelo and Jackson, the senator also has offices in Pascagoula and Gulfport.
