August 26, 2008

WASHINGTON – U.S. Sens. Roger Wicker and Thad Cochran today announced that Centreville has been selected to receive a $19,960 grant to help purchase a new police car through the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development program.  The new police car will replace one that was recently damaged.

“This grant will help purchase a new police car that will allow the Centreville Police Department to continue providing protection to the residents of their community,” Sen. Wicker said.

The USDA Rural Development Program aims to increase economic opportunity and improve the quality of life in rural America.  This is done by providing financial and technical assistance to foster growth and new opportunities for business development, home ownership, and critical community and technology infrastructure.
