TUPELO, MISS. – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., who will soon be the Republican leader of the Senate Armed Services Committee, today released the following statement praising the announcement that the Senate and House Armed Services Committees have appointed a full roster of members to the Commission on the National Defense Strategy:
“I appreciate the fine work that Chairman Reed, former Ranking Member Inhofe, Chairman Rogers, and Ranking Member Smith have done in selecting such knowledgeable and talented national defense professionals to study our national defense strategy,” Wicker said. “With many new threats emerging from places like Russia and China, it is imperative that we continue to adjust our national defense strategy to maintain our deterrence. I look forward to working with the members of this commission in my new role.”
