Wicker Statement on International Criminal Court Warrant for Vladimir Putin

Miss. Senator: “It is Up to the Free World to Seek Justice” For Ukrainian Children

March 17, 2023

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today commented on the International Criminal Court arrest warrants issued for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Maria Lvova-Belova for their role in the scheme to forcibly deport thousands of Ukrainian children to Russia:

“I have said it from the very beginning: Vladimir Putin is a war criminal, and he should face justice for his actions. The International Criminal Court has done the right thing by calling out the evil actions of the Putin regime against Ukrainian children. It is up to the free world to seek justice on their behalf,” Wicker said. “These atrocities are just another reminder that the Biden Administration should work to give Ukraine the full array of military capabilities it needs to secure victory.”
