As a state senator, I authored the legislation that put in place regulations for abortion clinics and created the twenty-four hour waiting period for abortions. As a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, I supported the ban on partial birth abortions, which the Supreme Court upheld. I have cosponsored various other bills in both the House and Senate reflecting my belief that life begins at conception.
