Wicker Statement on Veterans’ Day

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker (R-Miss.) is honoring our nation’s current and former service members this Veterans’ Day at events in Washington, D.C. and Mississippi.

“I am deeply grateful to all the brave men and women who have served in our nation’s armed forces. As a veteran, the son of a veteran, and the father of an officer in the Air Force, I understand the profound sacrifice of those who have fought to protect our freedoms.

“We thank our veterans and remember their commitment to keeping Americans safe and secure throughout our nation’s history.”

On November 5, as part of a week-long tribute to our nation’s veterans, Senator Wicker welcomed Gulf Coast Honor Flight veterans from Mississippi to the World War II Memorial in Washington.

Also this week, Senator Wicker addressed the students and faculty of Tishomingo County High School in Iuka for their Veterans’ Day Program.

Senator Wicker will wrap up his Veterans’ Day schedule by attending the Marion County Veterans’ Day Celebration in Columbia on Monday at 11:00 a.m. The event will take place at the Marion County Courthouse on 250 Broad Street.
