February 11, 2015

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., a senior member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, issued the following statement regarding President Obama’s proposal requesting authorization for the use of military force against the Islamic State:

“In the coming days, I look forward to reviewing the President’s plan and consulting with our military leaders on its prospect for success. The fight against these barbaric terrorists will not be won overnight. The United States and its allies, including those in the Arab world, should remain committed to eliminating this evil.”
