WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., ranking member of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation, today released the following statement after Senate Republicans announced another infrastructure counteroffer to the White House:
“Our proposal includes real numbers that address what members on both sides of the aisle would agree is infrastructure,” said Wicker. “This is a good faith proposal that avoids hiking taxes on job creators and small businesses. The President indicated he would accept a funding target of at least $1 trillion, and we hope he will accept this offer so we can provide critical upgrades to our nation’s infrastructure.”
Details of the counteroffer can be viewed here.
