August 31, 2023

JACKSON, MISS. – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., today released a new video highlighting his recent travel throughout Mississippi in the month of August.

“By the end of the month, we will have been in every corner and region of the state,” Wicker said about his travel.

Wicker hit the road in August to meet with Mississippians and highlight his recent work on economic development and national security. The video features footage from a joint meeting with the Forest Rotary and Lions Club, visits to the 172nd Airlift Wing and Tougaloo College, and a groundbreaking in Madison County. Senator Wicker has also highlighted other stops across the state on his social media, including a joint Farm Bill roundtable with U.S. Senators Cindy Hyde-Smith, R-Miss., and John Boozman, R-Ark., visits to local businesses like Robert St. John’s Loblolly Bakery, and several celebrations like the 20th Anniversary of Airbus Helicopters in Mississippi.

“The opportunity to meet Mississippians face to face where they live and work and hear their concerns is one of my most important duties,” Wicker said.

SENATOR WICKER: By the end of the month, we will have been in every corner of the state. And it’s an opportunity to meet with state leaders, but also a lot of small towns, a lot of county seat courthouses, all over the state. I really appreciate the opportunity to listen to the people and see what they’re thinking.

We’ve got inflation. Biden came in and he pushed through $2 trillion in stimulus. We wouldn’t have the situation we have now if he hadn’t made those mistakes.

The fact that I have an opportunity to provide jobs for Mississippians, to have a leadership role in one of the most important committees of our Senate, the Armed Services Committee, the committee where the legislation originates to keep our citizens safe. Also at the same time, send a signal to our adversaries not to try anything.

This is just an opportunity of a lifetime. And I just can’t think of a better time to have that opportunity. I am so grateful to Mississippi for giving me that opportunity to serve and to look forward to a peaceful future.
