Chairman Wicker Issues Statement on Additional Funding for Anduril Solid Rocket Motor Facility

February 24, 2026

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Roger Wicker, R-Miss., Chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, today issued the following statement:

“Insufficient solid rocket motor production has been one of the key constraints on American missile manufacturing for the past five years. This Defense Production Act funding will match Anduril’s own investments in the McHenry, Mississippi, facility to accelerate qualification of new motors and enable a path to production of 6,000 motors annually,” Wicker said. “I commend the partnership between the Office of the Under Secretary for Acquisition and Sustainment and the Army to drive this project forward. Congress has been clear for years – additional competition across the defense enterprise is necessary to create more cost-effective manufacturing techniques and more capable chemical formulations that increase the range and production quantities of our munitions.”
